well this is a depressing excuse for a party

[Mid-day on Sunday, Heather goes around and slips notes under dressing room doors.

If you don't want to be alone today, there will be snacks and people in the Ballroom today --Heather

She's even dotted every i with a little heart! How cute.

The dining hall is a way better location for a party (or whatever this is) with its close proximity to the kitchen, and more intimate space- but Heather doesn't want to be anywhere near that place. Not for a while, at least. True to her word, Heather's brought snacks- finger sandwiches, a few bags of chips, and a big pitcher of lemonade. There isn't much else set up, but the piano is still there, should anyone want to play.]

[She will never be able to eat a hot pocket again. Valjean showed her how to make it, but D-ne was the one who originally taught him. She doesn't know if she's quite ready to forgive D-ne anytime soon.]

I wonder how much longer we have to stay now because of that.

[Raoul doesn't know that. He's thinking of making one, though - just. To leave out in remembrance. It's a weird little offering, but it is significant.]

Probably until the management has had its fill. [Of blood, but he won't say that in front of a lady.] I wish I could say I knew when that might be, but...

I hope it's soon. I want to go home... I want to forget about this place.

[Not the people. Just the being trapped and seeing a dead body... a execution...]

But while we're here, I want to protect anyone I can.

[Raoul is quiet at that, at first. He looks Anna over tiredly.]

You shouldn't have to, Princess Anna. Not even here.

But I want to. I may not truly be a princess here, but it's my job as a potential ruler, right? If I don't try and protect the people around my, I'm not fit to be a queen.

[Not that she truly wants to be queen. That was Elsa's calling. She takes a deep breath before she starts singing, taking Raoul's hands.]

[He's a bit surprised when she takes his hands, but he does listen. That sort of responsibility...it's comforting to see in a young monarch, actually, and makes Raoul a little proud, but his sensibilities tell him that someone like him should be protecting her - not because she couldn't protect herself, but because it's the right thing to do.

When Anna finishes, he holds her hands back, squeezes.]

We are. Yes, we...are indeed friends.

[He smiles in return, though the expression is still tired, still sad.]

I see no reason why I cannot be friends with everyone here - or at least, try to be.

[They're all stuck in this place at the mercy of cruel people. There's no rule against being a friend!]

Yes. I'm trying my best to get along with everyone here, but... some people make it really hard.

[It's like they are allergic to friends.]

Some people have a...naturally abrasive personality, I'm afraid.

[Or are just a rude pirate like Hook.]

Or they are like Sir Javert. I don't think he's ever had a friend, but he is rather kind.

[She needs to meet Hook.]

[Nobody needs to meet Hook, trust him. The Pirate King is a far more superior pirate.]

Or yes, they are like the Inspector. He is dedicated to his duty to the law, and that is most respectable - however, I doubt that earns him much company.

[Speaking of Javert...geez, he's got to still be reeling, right? Raoul should go seek him out later. Maybe later in the week.]

[The Pirate King is wonderful.]

I admire his passion for his job... but I would like to be friends with him. Especially now that he really needs one.

I think that would be a good thing to do. [He will also see if he can catch the man alone for a chat to get his mind off of things.]

... do you think he would eat a hot pocket? [Random. But Valjean sort of liked them. Why not Javert?]

I see no reason why he would not want to try.

[Yes. Hot pockets.]

We could teach him like Valjean taught us. It might make him feel closer to us and Valjean.

That sounds like a good idea. [He nods.] Let's make a plan of it.

We could always make a whole bunch and everyone can try them, too!

You know, that's an even better idea! I don't know if everyone has had them yet. Oh, but we must warn them before they bite into one fresh from the micro-wave.

Yeah, we can't have anyone burning their mouths just for those.

It would also prevent them from tasting anything for quite some time.

That and their mouths would be really sore.
