well this is a depressing excuse for a party

[Mid-day on Sunday, Heather goes around and slips notes under dressing room doors.

If you don't want to be alone today, there will be snacks and people in the Ballroom today --Heather

She's even dotted every i with a little heart! How cute.

The dining hall is a way better location for a party (or whatever this is) with its close proximity to the kitchen, and more intimate space- but Heather doesn't want to be anywhere near that place. Not for a while, at least. True to her word, Heather's brought snacks- finger sandwiches, a few bags of chips, and a big pitcher of lemonade. There isn't much else set up, but the piano is still there, should anyone want to play.]

I guess. [She wrings her hands and looks at the floor.] I haven't found any secret doors or anything.

No one has. We just have to wait.

What about those locked ones? I mean, not the courtroom ones. Do you think there's a key?

I don't think they'll give it to us.

After what just happened, I don't want to risk making them mad. We all saw what they can do.

Right. [She shifts.] But what if we find it anyway?

I don't think it's a good idea. We should just do what Mr. Balladeer wants us to do, and wait it out until they get bored and let us all go.

But they only said they'd do that if nobody died!

Nobody else is going to die!

I know! At least, I hope I know, but they said nobody, and... okay. Okay. We can stay here and hope they find us.

I know it's frustrating, but it's better that way.

I guess we can't do anything from in here anyway. We didn't even get to find his tax records.

You looked for his tax records?

We were talking about doing it, anyway! To find the address. But all he has in that office of his is a whole lot of nothing, and he's always there.

I still think he must be lonely.

No kidding. His life must suck in there even more than ours.

At least we, like, have each other. Everyone's getting closer.

You're right! We'll get out of here with that. Having a lot of friends really is hope-inspiring!
