Let's Gather 'Round the Campfire and Sing Our Campfire Song
[Well last week Spongebob decided that the Wizard was nothing but a big fucker and everything was all his fault so he is going to kick his "Boost the moral of his friends" scheme into overdrive to rub it in the Wizard's stupid face.
Around the school on Monday, there will be Spongebob's huge mass of fliers again, this time for some sort of camp out.]
Spongebob Squarepants Crazy Camping Party!!!
Come to the edge of the forest on Monday at 5 pm for a whole night of roasting marshmallows, telling Spoooooky stories, and sleeping under the stars!
Don't worry if it rains, we can always bring the camp inside!
Attendance is MANDATORY!!! I will come find you if you don't attend.
[And he absolutely means it.
Even though there are no stars, it's a comfortable evening with no real signs of rain, and Spongebob's managed to set up a cozy Spongebob set out a bunch of blankets, towels, and pillows around a cozy campfire. There are plenty of food you'd normally see at a camp out, including smores! Spongebob seems to have gone all out and brought in practically every kind of candy from the kitchen, so have fun with the sugar rush!]

Wait, he's not paying you? Spongebob, even if you're already wealthy, [ ??? ] and even if you enjoy your work, the time you devote to it has value that needs to be recognized. Mister Krabs should compensate you for it. I think it would be illegal for him not to, in most places?
[ do they have minimum wage laws in bikini bottom ]
no subject
Why would it be illegal? It's an honor in itself to work there! And sure, sometimes I work so much I forget to eat or sleep, but it's still fun!
[Please save him.]

It's illegal because, um. Even if work is important, or enjoyable, it's still taking away time you could be spending doing other things, like being with friends, or. Or sleeping.
[ he is so worried about you now sponge ]
And most people, no matter how much they love what they do, wouldn't have enough money to buy food or pay rent or save up for other important things, if their work didn't pay them for their time. So even if you can afford to work for no pay, and want to work all day long, it's not fair to do that, because, um. Basically, think about it like this? Bosses are usually going to look for whoever can do the job to their standards for the lowest cost, so they can make the most profit. If you show up and offer to do it for nothing, then other workers, who need the money, are going to look worse to potential bosses, who are going to ask why they can't be more like you.
[ He thinks that makes sense? Anyway. ]
And also you're really good at what you do, and it's not fair for Mister Krabs to make money off of that if you aren't recognized for what you're contributing. Even if you don't want the money, it's not fair for him to keep it all for himself if you're doing the work.

[He looks thoughtful. This is some big concepts Orpheus is trying to teach him, and he barely understands it, but wow, he doesn't like the idea of making people look bad.
And that last part...]
Gee... do you think it might have anything to do with why Mr. Krabs refuses to give me a promotion despite working so hard?
no subject
Probably. I don't know Mister Krabs myself? But if he doesn't think your labor is worth money, he probably doesn't think it's worth respect or recognition, either. It's sad, but a lot of bosses only see their workers as a means to make more money, and not people that they're leading and need to look after.
