[Varian like...doesn't know if people are still holding Salieri down, but either way it doesn't matter. He trusts him, implicitly.

Salieri wouldn't hurt him.

So Varian makes his way over- somehow- and lets Salieri grip him with his arms wherever he will.

In contrast, Varian will reach up and cup Salieri's face in his hands, using his thumbs to wipe his tears away.]
