[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

[ But just like that, the goat chews happily on the ribbon and trots off, leaving the girls to their own devices. ]

…That goat just wants to watch the world burn.

That. Thing might just give Discord a run for his money.

[Maya takes a few deep breaths before... letting out a laugh. It's a little tense considering everything but hey. It's there.]

Don't let him hear that. He'll get offended.

[ Despite it all? A wary laugh slips from Peregrine, too. Now, it's just them on the football field, no goat to distract from...

Oh, how Terrible that would be.

[She turns to glance at Peregrine. Even if her body had not forgotten the tension, for a few blissful moments, it had at least slipped her mind. Now that she has time to think, however?]

I... Should thank you. You did all you could to help me, yesterday. I am grateful, even if I did not show it.

[ Oh, that's...kind of unexpected? She stares at Maya, as if trying to glean something more. ]

...It messed you up. Anyone coulda seen that. I didn't wanna leave you alone.

[ And yet, she couldn't do anything, really. Is this how Lexy felt...? ]

[She exhales sharply through her nose.]

[ If Peregrine hadn't had...a few big realizations, she'd probably hold this over Maya's head, in a way, and that'd just start last week's problems over again.

But she has and she doesn't and she just gives Maya a knowing smile. ]

I forgive you. It's okay...just as long as you're safe and, you know...not gonna try and go it alone.

I'm... Not going to.

[She pushes some of her hair out of her face, since she no longer has a ribbon to do it for her.]

I will not pretend I didn't think about it but... The risks far outweigh the benefits.

[ Peregrine doesn't realize just how much tension she had been carrying until this moment. Her shoulders relax for the first time in days. ]
