Week Four
[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.
You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.
Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

Well, leather's probably the best place to start...light, but thick enough that it's not going to go through without some real force behind it. Are you having trouble getting it sewn together from there?

[She puts her head in her hands.]
Costume design was for Class A, not Class B. I could tell you how I thought it should look, but creating it? The others were far better with that.
[Look at her! Admitting weakness.]
no subject
Well, I don't know much about costume design...but I like to think I'm pretty handy at putting stuff together from a blueprint. Or...description, in this case.
[He carefully picks up one of the pieces of leather, feeling it between his fingers to see how thick it might need to be.]
Why don't you describe to me what you're aiming for with this one? I'll see if I can help you get something going.
no subject
Apparently I cannot cut in a straight line.
no subject
Are you drawing a guide?
[He asks as he starts to rummage around to see if he can find anything to make a mark with- fabric pens specifically.]
You'll want to make it a bit bigger than you think it should be anyway, by at least a few inches for seam allowance. Otherwise your blade's never gonna fit right.
no subject
[There is obviously no guide on the fabric. She huffs and knocks the scrap of fabric she'd been using away before Varian can see as much.]
I was planning on making it bigger, at least. Seam allowances... make sense.

Varian's expression softens as he produces a fabric pen, reaching for a new length of fabric to work with.]
Alright, let's start over then. Good thing there's a lot here to work with...
[Though, while he's working on marking out the pattern, he'll continue after a brief pause of silence.]
Guess we're, uh...all a little distracted this week.

It's... been a rough week, I will say that much. [She makes a face.]
no subject
[Rough is an understatement. You wouldn't think something like being granted a wish would be enough to turn so many people on their heads, but hey...
He's one of them, so he'd be a hypocrite if he judged.]
Have you...been doing okay, Maya?
