[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

Of course I'm worked up! [and here it comes, the shouting] The man was nothing but an irritation! He was highly unprofessional! We were not at the rehearsal for two minutes only to find him horsing about with his to-be-wife rather than conducting rehearsal! He insulted Rosenberg, mocked him in front of everyone when the Emperor's Steward was rightly aggravated about the state of the rehearsal!

Then he has the audacity to tell me that I am supposedly a musician--supposedly! I am the assistant Kapellmeister at the Emperor's opera house! That cretin only got his commission because I told His Majesty that he was talented!

And then--then! He goes on to play the most sublime, the most beautiful, rich, lyrical, heartrending music that I---

--that I.... [he trails off, voice going quieter]

...it was the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.

[Oh, that's a rant. That is a full on rant and, genuinely, he didn't think Salieri had it in him? It throws him off for a moment and he's just blinking, listening to all of that.

It's all rather impassioned and he's not sure how to respond to it.

Until Salieri goes more quiet, of course, and there's... that.

Oh.]

...Yes, Maestro. Not lovesick whatsoever.

[Rolling his eyes oh so pointedly.]

Oh for--!

[That pulls him out of that reverie, and immediately puts the annoyance back in his tone]

I am not lovesick over Mozart, you idiot!

[YEP WE'RE BACK TO YELLING]

You've been going on about him the whole time, you really could have fooled me!

You asked! [snapped back] You asked, and you prodded, and you would not leave it alone as usual, so of course I'm going on about him! That doesn't mean I'm lovesick over him!

[disharmonizes]

No, of course not, you're just obsessed and can't stop talking about him and swoon over his music, that's all!

[He's not sure why he's snapping this much, it's not like he CARES or anything!]

If you're really not lovesick, maybe you should actually prove it.

[if he were any calmer, Salieri might act differently in this situation. He might stick his nose in the air and sneer, or dismiss the need to prove anything.

Unfortunately, he is not calm at all. So instead, what he goes with is:]

Fine!

[and before he can even think better of it, he's reaching up quickly to cup Discord's cheeks in his hands, using that to pull him down him down just as Salieri pushes up on his toes, kissing him hard.]

[and then, oh then does his brain catch up with him and he realizes rather abruptly what he's done. Is doing.

Oh God.]

[he immediately releases Discord with a jolt, pressing back against the wall, his eyes wide and shocked at his own actions, hands pulled back towards his own chest. And for a moment Salieri just stares, trying to find his voice, opening and closing his mouth a couple times, trying to find some excuse, but there's just...nothing.]

[GREAT. NO. THIS IS

THIS IS FINE there might be a high-pitched teakettle whistling noise that's just...ringing in his ears right now and he can feel his face go so hot but Discord is still right there and far too close and he's trapped]

...right. [his voice sounds a bit strangled, and he's reaching up to nervously straighten his cravat, gaze now darting to the side, avoiding looking at Discord at all] Good.

...Yes.

[And Discord, realizing that oh yes Salieri is right there, just sort of awkwardly... steps back.]

Right.

[violentenvies]

[Discord just steps back and says nothing to address any of this and it's awkward and uncomfortable, and Salieri can feel embarrassment flare in his stomach, along with disappointment. Stupid. Stupid. And he was calling Discord idiotic?]

Yes, well. Enough of that. [he'll just valiantly attempt to regain any sense of dignity by sliding that cool, calm and collected mask back into place despite the heat still in his face and ears, and he's going to turn on his heel and continue down the hall the way he was going]

Ah--

[Oh, but... there Salieri goes. He still has a job to do here, so there's little choice but to follow, even if he's still sort of... mentally rebooting.]
