[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

[Cassandra pauses, letting her silence rest on the benches before them.]

...But maybe there are people we thought we could trust, but can't.

Nobody here.

[She can say that much immediately, if only to put Maya at ease.]

"You have to be careful who you trust". [She recites, like there's a meaning being echoed here.] But even your best friends can turn on you, if they think they have to.

[Oh. Maya looks just a little uncomfortable.]

Or if they think they might benefit from it. That they deserve something more? [She shivers.] But to go to such lengths? Even I could not comprehend that.

[If Cassandra notices, she makes no mention of it.]

Neither can I. I don't want to think about any benefits that are worth killing someone over.

So it makes perfect sense if the Wizard thinks that no cost is too high.

In any case, I look forward to proving him wrong.

Between all of us... I don't see anyone wanting to attempt murder anytime soon.

[Even if she sounds a little shaken about that.]

You're right. Our bonds are too strong, at this point. Even if there are disagreements among individuals, on the grand scheme, we all have someone we wouldn't want to hurt or disappoint by the loss of our numbers.

Yeah.

That Wizard had better not threaten those "someones", or else.

Unfortunately, I am sure that the thought has occurred to him. Several times over, even.

Yeah. [She exhales into a sigh that sags her shoulders.] You're right. If anything, he'll probably start using our loved ones against us even more.

...In fact - I'll just stop talking, because he can probably hear us.

I doubt it's the first time he's heard it but.

[She pantomimes sealing her lips. She's probably seen Karen do it once and decided to roll with it.]
