Week Four
[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.
You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.
Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

I... wouldn't say nature itself has a will. Nature is wild, and free, and more of a force than anything. But there are spirits that are born from nature; spirits of water, of earth... of fire. [Squeak squeak. The salamander looks very happy at that!] They protect nature, and help keep the balance between it and people.
[And then there's that fifth spirit... but Elsa has no idea what that's about.]
no subject
Do they protect the people out in nature too?
no subject
For those who respect nature, and those who protect it, the spirits will aid and protect them in turn. But for those who mean harm...
[Hm. She thinks of the old stories that her mother and father told her, and her memories of her grandfather about the slay a defenseless Northuldran...]
Nature is not as forgiving of those with sinister intentions.

...Did she, though? Peregrine, did she... Was The Final disrespectful? Is that why...
She doesn't mean to. But she shivers, suddenly, and wraps her arms around herself, rubbing at herself like she's trying to get warm. ]
—Sorry- I think... I should probably go.

[Oh no. Elsa is perceptive enough to realize something she said must have rubbed Peregrine the wrong way. She frowns, placing the salamander on her shoulder before taking a step forward. Carefully, and not too close.]
I- I'm sorry, did I say something wrong?
no subject
No! No, you didn't— I did. I did something wrong, that's why it happened.
[ She's not making sense. Nothing's making sense. ]
I'm sorry, it's- it probably works differently, where I'm from.
no subject
What do you mean? What... what happened?
no subject
...Nature and I just... We don't have a good track record. Maybe- I screwed up, but...my brother didn't do anything wrong, and he still... [ Peregrine swallows. ]
no subject
[Ah. This is getting into sensitive territory. Elsa has to be careful not to poke too much, lest she unintentionally hurt Peregrine.]
You... you don't have to tell me anything. I would never force you to talk. But if it's something you want to get off your chest, I'll listen.
