[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

Oh absolutely he does. You, uh. Learn any cool booby traps in survival camp, or is it all practical things like "having a compass" and "don't eat mushrooms?"

[ Wouldn’t Peregrine start rambling about some kind of technique she’s learned now, or fervently insist it wasn’t a camp or something. Yeah, she would. However, she simply stays quiet for a moment. ]

…Nah. Nothing like that. It’s not really…helpful for all that.

I mean, they're probably actually super impractical or something boring like that.

[ She shrugs. ]

I'll figure something out. Also, sidenote... you good?

[ Peregrine wraps her arms around herself. ]

A little bit of both. ...A lot of both.

Well, I ended up lighter on the emotional trauma than most people this week. Wanna... sit down on this bench and talk about your feelings?

[ But, Peregrine doesn't sit down. ]

Do...you think...if we died before here...that we'd be dead if we left here? Like...if that's something to do with the Wizard's magic?

Why did they have to specify that? ]

I mean... you don't have any like. Runes on you or anything, do you? That's the stupidest way I could have phrased that question in this circumstance- look, do you have weird unhealed scars or anything? Because usually when magic heals someone, it just sort of... does.

Not sure what scars would be physically left from hypothermia.

[ Why is life like this for Peregrine Wells? ]

Shit, uh...

[ She reaches over, just kind of. Wanting a reason to be closer to Peregrine right now, but also to take her temperature, as if that's going to help. ]

You don't... feel cold?

[ She holds herself a little tighter, hesitating a bit before shaking her head. ]

It was like... I could still feel it when I woke up. But...no. I just feel like...like I'm not warm enough.

[ She looks around. She feels bad, with how much it meant to give away the last one, but also... ]

Do you... want to borrow a jacket?

[comeandfindme]

[ Her lips quirk lightly. ]

No, it's— ...it's probably psychosomatic, or something.

[fourbutts]

No reason not to be comfy, but I get you.

[ She sighs. ]

I guess... if you were going to die without him, I'm going to bet the guy would be trying to blackmail you or something.

[comeandfindme]

[ Her brows knit together, and for the first time since Connor died, her eyes probe with their inquisitive look. ]

What do you mean?

[fourbutts]

I mean, it makes sense, right? Like... he'd think you owe him, or some shit.

[comeandfindme]

[ Oh, that's a horrible thought! ]

Why the hell... Yeah, great, so he just throws me into another death trap, awesome. [ At least she sounds a little angry about that? ]

...I think he already might've. That picture, the- the first one.

[fourbutts]

[ Hey, an emotion! We can get centered on pure anger towards the Wizard, it's fine. ]

Ugh, right. I mean that was sort of lowkey blackmail for everyone, but. That's a fun new spin to put on attempted emotional trauma.

[comeandfindme]

[ Peregrine continues, one of her fists clenched. ]

I'm here, I'm fine, aside from everything about this place, but the others, just to make me aware they're—

[ Woodsley looking so weak. She didn't remember that, but she could tell, upon waking up, that it was coming. She knew what his shivering, what his disorientation meant.

She can feel herself so utterly tense. ]

...Like. Of course this would happen.

[fourbutts]

[ Janis shakes her head. ]

I don't think this was a karma thing for any of us.

Yeah. Just a big fat cosmic joke.
