[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

I didn't mean to upset you. I just wanted to be honest with you. We... keep regaining pieces of memory. I don't know what we might recall next. It simply... felt right to tell you, in the event that I did remember something more about Saijo-san.

But it does not change how I feel about you, Janis. It will not unless you want it to.

[ She shakes her head. ]

No, it's... you know. You have two hands, right? I'm cool with it.

I... kind of? It's weird.

[ She frowns. ]

I think I'm gonna need to chew on it for a little while.

[She leans up to place a kiss on her cheek.]

[ She nods. ]

Yeah. Nothing bad, though. I don't think.

[mayavericks]

Good. After the weekend we have all had, I think we need a reprieve.

[Hopefully everyone else gets great memories, and nothing bad happens!]

I know I'm down for one.

[ For sure! No one will be clinging to anyone later! There's not going to be any kind of extended period of Janis holding Maya real gentle. ]

And this one's already pretty good. For example, I've only almost cried once today, which is an improvement.

[mayavericks]

[It feels so wrong to laugh at, yet Maya does. It's a bittersweet sound, sardonic to the core, but a laugh nonetheless.]

It's probably not a good sign, that we're internalizing these sorts of things, is it?

My therapist would definitely have something to say about it.

[ She sighs. ]

But she's not here, so. We can just cope by cuddling. That's basically therapy.

[mayavericks]

I have never been to therapy so... As far as I know, that's exactly what it is.

[She curls up just a little tighter.]

I've been to enough for both of us.

Cuddling with a cute girl honestly makes this almost better than therapy.

At least while we're here together, you don't have to worry. Okay? Like don't lie to me, but... Even if it's just pretending, having that option is nice.

Pretending is nice. [A beat.] It is still hard to fathom sharing these sorts of things. Of not being the one in the lead.

[fourbutts]

I mean... there are definitely things I'm totally cool with you taking the lead in.

[ Doesn't. Make eye contact with Maya while saying that. It's normal. ]

But part of this whole thing is that we take care of each other, you know? I have you, and you have me.

[mayavericks]

Like in dancing, right?

[Said with raised, knowing eyebrows. You don't fool her, Janis.]

You are right, though. I... Need to remember that.

[fourbutts]

Yes. Like in dancing. Ob...viously. [ A beat. ] I remembered how to do some of that, by the way. One of the parts of my memory that made actual sense.

[ Like. The mortifying ordeal of being known as someone interested in someone else aside, holy shit the idea of dancing with Maya? Holy shit?? ]

I'm not gonna let you forget it. We're in this together, Maya.

[mayavericks]

You'll have to show me what you remembered at some point, then.

[ She might not be one of the dancers, but like. Who is, except for them? Anyway. ]
