[Last week, Gershwin High School Academy University saw its very first intentional murder! What a milestone! And right after Spongebob's No Murder party, too - that doesn't seem like it bodes very well for anybody's future.

You all wake up this morning with yet another new memory returned to you. You'll also find that the school's external doors have now unlocked. Congratulations! You're free! Unfortunately, you also seem to be entirely in the middle of nowhere. So maybe it's more of a symbolic victory.

Still, you should look around and do some investigation! Maybe you'll find a fun surprise.]

investigation

[So, this week has been... Something! But Cassandra seems emboldened, following yesterday's motive announcement. So! Time to push everything waaaay down, and meet the new day with confidence!

Morning comes around and, true to Cassandra's word, she's off to the gym bright and early for some investigating. She doesn't expect much; they've all spent more than enough time in here, but it might be worth a look... starting with a peek under those collapsible bleachers.

Later on, around lunch, Cassandra's absent from lunch. A quick search will discover that she moved into the weight room for - what else? - a one-woman workout routine. She can found here making use of everything, either on her back, lifting a barbell, or testing her leg strength with the weight-lifting equipment. It's just a cycle, from one thing to the other, all with the same determined fervor.

Because sometimes you just need to put all of your energy and focus into working as much as possible, and then you'll have nothing to spare for other things you need to think about.

Like motives! Who cares about those, right?

But make no mistake, Cassandra does come to the animal husbandry club. At least... physically. Mentally, she might be far away from here, but physically, the dark-haired woman is on her back in the grass.

Cassandra is de- No, not dead. Just tired. And a couple of baby chickens have settled on top of her chest, peeping at her inquisitively.]

[ Janis just sort of. Puts her head in her hands. ]

I'm so bad at this. Just tell her you want to learn about Sonic memes. She'll be way better at it.

Varian pushes himself up to his feet so he can help, picking up what little things can fit safely into his pockets. There's a penguin statue he built with Connor's help as well which will have to be carried.]

Yeah. He...um. He found me in here, when I was trying to come up with a blueprint for a memorial of some kind....for Mumble and Sissi.

[He was....on the floor, crying, it was a time.]

That's when he told me about Ofrendas. We decided to build it together, after that.

Varian doesn't even try to hide the shock in his expression.]

This...it could be an illusion. Put together with magic, somehow...

I hate it, but... Yeah. That'd probably cause a bad scene. It's...still the Wizard's fault we're all here, after all.

[He'll get started on doing just that, taking one end of the fabric while she takes the other. There's plenty of room underneath the tree to sit for both of them.]

Having a picnic was a nice idea...especially now that we can go outside.

I could at least drop it in the ocean after. Just for a bit.

[Well that certainly gets his attention. He'll go investigate out of curiosity...only to find Eurydice there, burning some papers. Salieri's eyebrows hike up towards his hairline, surprised]

He showed me a little bit of his dancing. And he told me he'd talked to you about it.

[ Orpheus sits down on Elisabeth's bench, leaning against the back rest. ]

I'm not much of a dancer, myself? But I wish I'd gotten to show him one of the traditional jigs I learned back home. I think he might've appreciated it, especially since it sounds like he'd never really seen anyone else dance except for him, before coming here.

Maybe— maybe not completely an illusion, I don't know. It all feels solid, and real, but... If he could bring us here, turn a penguin into a human— what else could he do?
