[In a perfect world, Maya would have been able to isolate herself for the rest of the evening. It's not like her to wallow in her feelings, but it's also not like her to be trapped away in a murder school or part of an execution so... not like she has much choice there. Besides, between the influence of Janis, and the sight of her remaining dormmates, it's clear that Maya simply can't... let things go.

It's like she told the SQUIP. They look to her for hope. And so, hope she must be. It's her job to stand tall for the others. Thankfully help comes easier this time -- there's no need to scruff Discord, or try to keep Spongebob from making Hate Patties. Maybe that, in and of itself, is a good sign.

It's just another fluke. They'll be okay. They're together, after all. Even Salieri and Discord are getting along well enough to help.

Cutting potatoes proves to be an interesting task, considering the fact that most of the knives are missing. Maya has a few guesses as to how that happened, but she won't point fingers again today. She makes do with what she has -- two swords between her and Cassandra.

Potatoes, cakes, pies -- the arrangement is much the same. There's even cocoa (made by less experienced hands, unfortunately), and alcohol. It all feels like a repeat of last week, but she's trying to not think about it. She does her best to keep a smile on her face as she knocks on each door, inviting others to the cafeteria once more.]

[at that, he'll glance at the cup on the ceiling. He hums, thoughtfully]

How interesting. I hadn't realized you had an interest in interior decorating as well.

I have many talents, of course.

On the contrary. I think I rather enjoy the decorative addition. [he plucks a couple more cups out of the air, stacking them on top of the other one]

[Okay, he laughs a bit at that.]

Now, that's not very proper of you. What if you get sent to manners jail?

The only way that would happen is if someone told said Manners Police about it.

[he arches an eyebrow]

You wouldn't do such a thing to me, would you, Monsieur Discorde? [this time he really draws the "o" out, leaning his elbow on the counter]

That depends on what they offered me. I mean, would I snitch on you for no reason? Probably not.

But give up a friend for my own personal gain, oh, absolutely.

[he sighs at that, with a slight touch of exaggerated disappointment]

Well, I'm not sure what I expected. Though I suppose it should have been that? [he goes back to smirking] Are you sure you wouldn't like to spend time in Court? With that attitude, you'd fit right in.

No, I wouldn't. I'm way too fun and cool for that crowd, maestro, honestly now.

Oh are you? By your measurement, I assume.

Perhaps. Though I suppose the question is: would the Lord of Chaos really let himself be kicked out?

Oh, never. I'd turn the entire place upside down before they could get me to leave.

[Salieri considers that]

...truth be told, something tells me his Majesty would actually enjoy that. Rosenberg would not, of course, but I'm almost tempted to say I would be interested in a ticket to that show.

Careful, maestro, that almost sounds like you're hoping for chaos.

[That...makes him pause for a moment, and he folds his arms, leaning back on the counter and studying Discord for a moment.

Strangely...when he reflects, he's come to find that he does, perhaps, enjoy Discord's company under certain circumstances. He can certainly be aggravating, irritating, disrespectful, etc, etc, however...sometimes he can be rather kind, in his roundabout Discord way. Not to mention the care he's shown to others, though he certainly would protest if it were pointed out.

Salieri tilts his head just slightly, looking up at Discord with an arched eyebrow]

[Oho? He was expecting a denial there, a back-and-forth, not this.]

Well, in that case, I'd have no choice but to deliver once we got out of here. You do realize that, yes?

[Salieri makes a humming sound, considering, as he turns to take one of those wine bottles and open it, pouring himself a glass that he then picks up, and turns back to Discord, letting that offer marinate.]

You say that as though I'm not rather well aware of your proclivities.

[he takes a sip of his wine]

Perhaps I simply wish to see how Count Rosenberg would react to your presence.

[disharmonizes]

So you just want to unleash me on your innocent court acquaintances?

[And Discord will just casually slides up against Salieri, arm around his shoulder. Getting all conspiratorial in here.]

Or... are you suggesting a team up?

[Salieri, for once, does not seem particularly uncomfortable with the arm around his shoulders. In fact, he seems to relax just slightly.]

Hmm. Let me think...[he pauses to consider, taking a sip of his wine]

Perhaps both? I have been considering that partnership you suggested at the meeting...

Oh, we could do that and so much more. Think about all the mayhem we could cause, teaming up.

[he'll get an arched eyebrow for that]

I suppose...but I do have a comfortable position in Court that I have worked rather hard for. Is a little mayhem worth that much?

[He smirks, backing away from Salieri and walking away a little, around the table they've been setting.]
