[In a perfect world, Maya would have been able to isolate herself for the rest of the evening. It's not like her to wallow in her feelings, but it's also not like her to be trapped away in a murder school or part of an execution so... not like she has much choice there. Besides, between the influence of Janis, and the sight of her remaining dormmates, it's clear that Maya simply can't... let things go.

It's like she told the SQUIP. They look to her for hope. And so, hope she must be. It's her job to stand tall for the others. Thankfully help comes easier this time -- there's no need to scruff Discord, or try to keep Spongebob from making Hate Patties. Maybe that, in and of itself, is a good sign.

It's just another fluke. They'll be okay. They're together, after all. Even Salieri and Discord are getting along well enough to help.

Cutting potatoes proves to be an interesting task, considering the fact that most of the knives are missing. Maya has a few guesses as to how that happened, but she won't point fingers again today. She makes do with what she has -- two swords between her and Cassandra.

Potatoes, cakes, pies -- the arrangement is much the same. There's even cocoa (made by less experienced hands, unfortunately), and alcohol. It all feels like a repeat of last week, but she's trying to not think about it. She does her best to keep a smile on her face as she knocks on each door, inviting others to the cafeteria once more.]

[His approval is still startling— but it’s appreciated. She nods at him, pleased that efforts that even she had doubted were helpful are being seen as important.]

[he watches her go with fond affection, moving to get back to prep]

[if she'd like to find him later, after all the hot cocoa has been passed out, he'll grab a mug for himself to sip at]

[Farrah returns to find him once the box of knives has been properly tucked away and locked up— where she almost laughs, finding him with a mug of cocoa instead of a glass of wine. She finds herself a mug, then plops down across from him.]

Well, that was traumatic.

It was rather terrible, yes.

[he'll reach out to set a hand on her wrist, gently]

...I'm sorry, Farrah.

[brokeforgood]

Oh, no, I’m talking the last twenty minutes. [She pauses and looks for his reaction.]

But, yeah, the trial and murder too. Poor Connor.

Ah. [no, that corrects him rather quickly] I can understand why it would be. But...I'm glad you did so, nevertheless. I'm proud of you.

[he just...scoots closer and reaches out to put an arm around her shoulders with a small sigh, expression going a touch more melancholy]

...poor Monsieur Connor, indeed.

[Farrah sighs too, gazing down at her cocoa before taking a long drink]

Maya straight up had ... [What to call it?] the knife. From Riley’s.

[wait what. Salieri pauses at that, turning his head to look at her fully]

She had what?

[brokeforgood]

The knife from Riley’s. [She repeats it casually, keeping her eyes on her cocoa.]

Maya had it. It came out of the vending machine.

[violentenvies]

That was Riley's knife? [because what]

That damned Wizard--[there's that thread of anger back in his voice]

Well. Her parents, I guess. But it was—- yeah. [It’s weird, but the anger in his voice makes her almost want to smile. It’s still weird, to have an adult in her life that hasn’t already given up on her. That doesn’t think she’s earned every misfortune she stumbles upon.]

It was. That one.

At least I know where it is, now.

[Salieri blows out a breath, reigning that spike of anger in, though it lingers with a slight scowl]

At least there is that, if it must be inflicted here.

Yeah. I mean. It’s not like it could get more awful. I’m already dead. [She gives him a gentle pat on the arm.]

So, I need you to stay out of the band room tomorrow for me.

[violentenvies]

[he's about to open his mouth to respond to that but...that catches him off guard]

...I beg your pardon?

[brokeforgood]

I’m already dead?

[violentenvies]

[sldkfhs Farrah pls--it takes a quite deal of control not to laugh at that, arching an eyebrow at her instead.]

The band room?

[brokeforgood]

Oh, yeah. I need you to stay out of it tomorrow.

[violentenvies]

...alright. Any particular reason?

[brokeforgood]

Yeah— an important one.

[hmm????? Salieri will give her a bemused look and an arched eyebrow]

No band room, all day?
