[The performers have been in the opera house for nearly two weeks now. Overall, despite the captivity, the experience has been a mellow one even with the introduction of the motive. Peaceful almost.

It's 7 am Friday morning. As everyone starts to putter out of their dressing rooms and begin the day, something feels different. A certain heaviness in the air, a sense of dread...oh, and then there's the metallic smell of blood coming from the hallway.

Investigate?]

[Well, just from the doorway, there looks to be a massive amount of blood in the far end of the room!

Wanna go check that out?]

[WHY IS THERE SO MUCH BLOOD!!! Yes, he'll go check it out. Is it just like, a pool of blood. Please tell him it's not just a pool of blood.]

[Look who's not that useless anymore and has come to find someone to cling to that isn't Hans and just is now standing beside the Pirate King with wide eyes.]

If you can stand to look at blood, then I'd appreciate it. But I can certainly understand if you don't want to be here.

[look at all this blood, anna, what is this.]

N-No. I... I want to help!

[That comes out as more of a squeak than anything. She's going to... see if there's anything laying in or around the puddle of blood. To try and not focus on the blood. By focusing on it... Good plan!]

[The most obvious object on the ground near the blood is a single silver candlestick that's toppled from the altar. Somehow, despite the mess, there is not a single drop of blood on it. It's still as polished and shining as its mate.

Of course, that means it probably wasn't really involved much in this. Maybe you should look for something less obvious. And, possibly, closer to the blood?]

[Just going to swallow really hard and get much closer to the blood. Anything standing out as she hovers over the puddle and tries not to fall into it?]

[It's hard to see, but on close inspection, there seems to be some kind of very small object lying near the blood puddle. Thankfully for you, dear, it is not in the blood puddle.]

[Ah! Good. Going to just back away a bit and kneel down by the object. What is she looking at?]

[The object doesn't resemble anything Anna's seen before. It looks like a tiny transparent disc. That's why it was so difficult to see. It's also slightly concave - right now it's sitting with the curved part facing down, like a bowl.]

[She is going to gently pick it up and look it over.

She has opera glasses. Is the disc made of glass like they are?]

[The material is rigid like glass, but it doesn't feel exactly the same.]

It's not glass... Maybe some of that weird future material? Plastic?

[Is it plastic?]

[It's not exactly the same as the plastic she's encountered, but yeah, it's pretty much plastic.]

[This? This is a pool of blood, of course! It's right in front of the little shrine Valjean had set up in here last week. It's not exactly regular - more like if someone just decided to bleed all over everything in the immediate vicinity.

Speaking of, the shrine is not unscathed.]

[Goddammit, look at that. Couldn't you have not left a pool of blood. No one needs this!!!

Alright, what's up with the shrine? Is it damaged?]

[Like everything else in this area, it's got some blood spattered on it. There's some droplets on the cross, even. Is that technically blasphemous or something?

But other than that, the shrine has been very disturbed. The white tablecloth covering the altar has a large smear of blood across it in addition to the general blood spatter, and it's been pulled half off the table. One of the silver candlesticks has fallen to the floor as well, though the other one managed to stay in its place. As a matter of fact, the candle is still lit.]

[Well, that's different. Good job, little candle, you did it. He's going to check out the fallen candlestick though, to see if it's dented or bloody.]
