it's a party! time to mingle!
[ The mood may be shifting as the days go by, but Hans is still totally confident that everybody's still working together on the whole "not murdering" thing! Definitely. I mean, a guy can dream, right? In any case, this morning upon leaving your room you may find a folded note under your door. Unless you're a really early riser, then you're going to have to come back to get your invitation. Sorry, bro. ]
Plus if we all keep humming, music plays itself in the background, that's how it works, right?
The refreshments are laid out on a table with flutes of champagne and wine glasses, and beside it you'll find, besides champagne and fine wine, a pitcher of water, maybe some juice and soda from the kitchen. It's all self-serve, so have fun with that. There are also some snacks: crackers and sliced cheeses and what-have-you nearby, complete with napkins and forks to serve yourself.
Not a drinker or much of a partier? That's alright, you can just hang out! A stack of playing cards is laid out by one end of the dining table, looking perfectly inviting for anyone who wants to give that a try. And Hans did promise there'd be stories from home to pass the time, so perhaps find yourself a group of people willing to listen and tell the group about the real you!
...Or if you'd rather avoid the whole mess entirely, stick to the wall and hope no one sees you. That's not suspicious at all. I mean, the dining hall is big enough for twenty, right? ]
Dear [Your Name]((It really will say your name, he hand wrote these!))[ Whether you're here early to help with set up or showing up fashionably late, the dining hall has been... well, not so much decorated really, but there's music coming from somewhere, maybe. Hans dragged the piano over from the music room and set it up in a corner, that should work.
I think we can all agree that this situation is far from ideal. It's fair to have doubts and expect the worse, but if we all stick to our morals I'm sure we can wait this out together. We can't let the Management think they can get us down with false promises and their crazy rules.
With that in mind, I hope you'll consider joining me in the Dining Room tonight for some refreshments, snacks, and a good chance for us all to spend some time together. There will be wine and champagne for those who wish to partake in it, as well as crackers and cheese and whatever I was able to find in the kitchen (I can't cook, but if anyone wants to bring anything, feel free!) If drinking and dining isn't your thing, maybe we can sit around and trade stories from home.
I look forward to seeing you there.
-- Prince Hans
(P.S. Set-up is at 5pm if anyone wants to help.)

the chance to learn everyone's motivationsthis.Later in the party, Hans can be found nursing a bit of champagne, standing by the refreshments to help anyone who might need it. I mean, he's kind of the host so even if it's self-serve, he's keeping an eye on the drinks anyway. He did kind of promise the Balladeer that he'd make sure none of the children drank irresponsibly. (Guess what? No drinking age in 1800s Europe!)
Not enough for you? Perhaps you'll find Hans at the table, playing cards, or at least trying to find someone to play with him. It could be fun! And definitely not a chance to see Hans' competitive side, no. If all else fails, give Hans a nod or a poke while he mills. He's open for anything else, but if you want to know about his home, get ready to here a sob story. ]

wallflower central
D-ne will be found throughout the night mostly near the wall, observing. She mills around a little, getting a cracker or the like from the snack table, idly eyeing the alcohol and then deciding against it. That is a disaster waiting to happen, no thank you.
While she doesn't look keen on getting involved in telling her own, she does stand near the stories center, just listening, nodding gently, sipping some tea. She's a really low-maintenance party guest.]

Once the party gets in full swing, he'll linger around the refreshments table with a glass of wine. He's more than old enough to know his limits, so he won't be getting drunk (unlike some of you people), but it is nice to have a glass here and there. He'll also be interested in hearing anybody's stories, though he likely won't tell any of his own unless prompted. He did a lot of that earlier in the week, after all, and he'd hate to monopolize.]

Story time is a great place to hear gossip, so Heather's quick to listen in. She's uncharacteristicly quiet when it's her turn to speak up. Something tells her this crowd wouldn't appreciate her stories, or find the humor in them.]

He will participate during story time, even though most of the stories he's willing to tell either involve Audrey or that "strange and interesting" plant he found. Unfortunately he doesn't think there's much story-worthy about his life.
But at some point in the night Seymour is going to get pretty drunk and more social as a result. Thanks, Hans and Raoul.]

Outside of that, though, he'll be mingling easily enough; he can be found at the card table as well, shuffling the cards rather than playing on his own - he knows his way around a deck of cards, that much is obvious, but he's entirely willing to deal you in if you want to play.]

Part-wallflower
[Astarte looks around, her own drink in hand. She's not being a wallflower, but...she's not exactly talkative or social. Actually, with everyone around, it seems like Astarte is startled. Frightened, even, as her eyes look left and right, as she swallows her drink. She hovers, once in awhile over a conversation or two, but once attention starts to shift to her, she steps back, looking away.
Its like she's never been to a party before.
In any case, she finds herself at the snack table, eating things here and there, no matter how they taste. And the story corner? Hoo boy.
She's there, but she doesn't even know what to say. Raoul's rebuke (such...as it was in her mind) of Undead has left her a little hesitant to talk about herself. What if no one else believes it, after all?
What if they get hostile? What if let them come at me you are simple pa-]I...um.
Hi.

She goes to the food first and grabs... well, some of everything, really, and fills a plate. Gotta try all the mortal foods! Even if it's just cheeses and meats. Whatever. Still neat!
After that, she just sort of wanders some. She's not entirely sure what she's doing or where to go, but! She'll definitely be around and available to talk! And if you want some stories, boy howdy she is down to swap stories.]

Eliza is there for set up first thing. She mostly putters around the kitchen, slicing up fruit, getting fancy with her plating and pouring some champagne flutes full of orange juice for those who aren't terribly keen on drinking their body weight in sparkling wine.
Later, at the party itself, Eliza found a new dress and is already a few drinks in when storytime starts. She'll be happy to share some embarrassing stories about her sisters and the men who aren't quite founding fathers yet.
Even later on, after a few more drinks, Eliza is in a mood to get dancing. It's less dancing and more twirling around the party but hey, this is the happiest she's been in two weeks.]

Unlike his previous public appearances, there's no grand musical entrance. He just slips in, hands tucked in his pockets, and glances about. So, here's the party. He's at the party. Now...partying happens?
He seems a little on edge, or perhaps just unsure of himself; he glances from group to group as if trying to figure out what he should be doing. After a moment, he settles for side-stepping out of the doorway. Maybe he'll just stand by the wall here for a little while until he gets his bearings.]

...Although she's still going to be stuck to the wall half the time. Socializing is very scary when you've all been told to murder. Or, y'know, most of the time.
When it's storytime, Hime looks at the floor and gulps.]
What kinds of stories do you want?

During the moments she strays from the wall, she can be found near the snack table when she gets hungry. At one point she takes a glass of wine to give it an experimental sip before wrinkling her nose and setting it back down. That definitely didn't taste the way she thought it would, and it's fairly clear from her expression she's not a fan of the flavor. At least she doesn't have to worry about getting tipsy and embarrassing herself.
When story time rolls around, she doesn't offer any stories of her own. She's not the most open person, and she doubts any of them would make for good conversation, besides. Still, she does move slightly close to a group of people. If nothing else, she's interested to see what they choose to share.]

She's put on a cute dress with matching shoes and her hair is done the best she can make it.
Normally she wouldn't think to bring anything but herself to a party, but she brought a bunch of the candy she's been
hoardingsnacking on the last week and just sort of tossed it on the table with the snacks. She'll happily dance with anyone, if asked.
And as for story time, she'll tell you about her movies. Also, the bold move with the casting of Animals in her new movie.]
