week 5
[Five weeks, three trials, seven deaths and thirteen performers left.
Monday the opera house has been cleaned top to bottom of any leftover traces of Halloween. No pumpkins, no cobwebs, no cheesy paper skeletons, not even a hint that there the decorations has been there in the first place. There's a slight chill in the air this week, like someone forgot to shut off the air conditioning on for a bit too long. Luckily there are plenty of sweaters in the costume room should the performers get chilly. Three more doors are lacking in their appropriate stars now but, as with Hime's, Eliza and Darla's doors have different stars stuck tight to them with different names on them.
The door on in the third floor lobby is unlocked and a new floor is ready to be explored. Enjoy your week, everyone.]
[ooc: put in your memories and get in your activity, lovelies, and let's have a stellar week.]
kitchen
...Oh. Mac and cheese. From the box no less. He's taken out some other cheeses to add to it, though, so it'll be super cheesy. He gives Billy a nod and a smile when he registers the other man's presence.]
Ah, good evening.
[Look at this guy. He's cutting up pre-sliced cheese into little bits.]
no subject
[Billy returns the smile, though it quickly slips into a puzzled look at the cheese slicing.]
Uh, what's...that for?
no subject
The macaroni and cheese. I want to see if adding other cheeses to it improves the quality.
no subject
...surprised you're not making something out of that book. [And possibly a little relieved?]
we actually do that in my house, put cheese in the boxed stuff
[We are not doing tipsy cooking on hard mode here]
we just melt cheese over shells mostly
[He laughs awkwardly and quickly trails off into silence. Mondays are terrible!]
You, uh, doing okay?
that sounds good too
[Hm, looks like the noodles can come off the heat. Raoul takes the pot and pours it out into a strainer that is conveniently waiting in the sink.]
My most recent memory is...disheartening, frankly.
no subject
[He busies himself with his own noodles rather than make eye contact. The egg's ready to go in with the ramen.]
I hope it's not too bad. Not that that's really any of my business, but...you know.
no subject
I honestly don't know what to make of it. I have...so little context for what happened, but...it has certainly been a blow to my morale, I suppose you could say.
no subject
I don't... [He hesitates, just for a moment.] I don't know if we know if the people in charge are giving these back, or if we're just remembering on our own? But if it is them, they'd probably try and make it seem worse. It's more dramatic.
no subject
...Do you think they have that sort of power as well? To defy time and space, and...reveal our own memories when they please?
no subject
I...don't know. They - they must've taken them somehow. [Shaking his head, he returns to his preparations. Add the veggies in, that's right.] If they can do that, who knows?
no subject
It all feels...so incredibly beyond anything that I understand. Not just the management, but the technology here as well, at times. At home, things like this were easy to scoff because I felt for certain there were rational explanations, but here? There is so little rationality for me to find...
no subject
...well, the technology is. But...they say magic's just what people call science they don't understand yet. So there must be some logic behind it all. We just...need to figure out what it is.
no subject
Do they? I suppose...that could be true, yes. There is sense to it. But some of the others have talked of magic as if it alone were truly possible without any logic. You can see why I might be confused on a few things.
no subject
no subject
Up yours, management, he won't hurt a soul.]
So the ideal thing to do...would be to keep busy.
no subject
[He trails off, stirring his noodles.]
Maybe we can all do something together. I think stuff like the parties is...you know, helpful? Good for us.
no subject
Eventually we are going to run out of conversation topics at them, but...the parties do make the atmosphere a bit lighter.
no subject
[yeah]
I think it might help if people have something to look forward to. Even if it's n-not that much?
no subject
I can't argue with that.
[Mix mix mix the mac and cheese...hm, looks like there's probably a bit too much for Raoul to eat on his own. He'll take two bowls down.]
Would you like some of the macaroni and cheese? I do not think I could eat all of this by myself.
[Plus you saw him make it so you know it's poison-free]
no subject
[He's got a decent serving of ramen himself, but he can always take any leftovers back to...his dressing room that he, a legitimate member of this cast, definitely has.]
You want any of this?
no subject
Ah, no, I think I'll be fine with this, thank you. [Scooping out equal shares into the bowls.] A small supper should be all I need.
no subject
[He takes his bowl and starts to circle around towards the dining room. Nowhere to sit in the kitchen, really.]
no subject
[Hope you don't mind a Raoul coming to join you for dinner Billy]
