[Well, all escape attempts have failed thus far. None of you have seen the Phantom since his brief appearance on Sunday, or heard from him at all. It looks like, for the time being, you’re all going to be stuck here.

You're free to continue exploring your surroundings to your hearts' content. The only real restriction on your movements is that the kitchen is closed between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am. Better make sure to grab any midnight snacks you may want ahead of time. Also, remember to label any investigation toplevels!

The Merchandise Booth is now open for business as well! The Phantom hasn't deigned to explain how it works, but...well, some of you will start to find mysterious coins in your rooms, and the Booth's got a place to put coins. You'll figure it out.

Should you wish to engage more with your host, you're welcome to drop letters in the box office slot. There's no set way to converse verbally with him, and he's certainly not guaranteed to respond if you just yell at the walls - but that doesn't necessarily mean he isn't listening. Just something to keep in mind.

[Angus starts the day with another trip to the merchandise booth, hoping to receive something less sinister than the foul drink and sweets he brought yesterday. The first few items are inoffensive, sometimes strange, but overall not unpleasant. The tumbler looks like something very useful, plus the sandbag may come in handy!

He turns the plastic crown in his hands a few times with a sad smile.] The Hootsman would have appreciated a gift like this.

[Then everything else comes out. Some strange ice, a book, a wig, and...two cutouts of some strange man that Angus has never seen before in his life.]

Where am I going to keep all of this?

[Afterwards, he will be hanging around the ballroom balcony for a while with a broom in his hand, waiting for someone to pass by, and then-] I can show you how to enter the Phantom's secret passage if you have the time.

[someone is...slightly hungover, but not horrifically so. Still, he perks up at the offer.]

Yeah. Let's go.

Come, Doctor!

[He's in a good mood today, and Angus waves him into the ballroom, up the stairs, wielding the broom with more energy than he had for most of Monday.]

Right here, on the floor. [He guides Dr. Browning to the tile he found earlier. On his knees, he outlines the thin seam separating it from the rest of the floor.] Stand back. I will knock on it with a stick this time, so you can better see how far you have to go down.

[Just gonna stay juuuust out of reach of that broom - or what he hopes is out of reach - in case Angus gets too excited. But it's clear he's interested; he drops in to a kneel of his own as they go to investigate the floor.]

Wish I had a flashlight...

[We're going to say they made a pit stop for some rope, though, so at least he has that]

[With a heart of hope, Angus flips the broom over so that the handle points downwards and strikes the panel three times, then stands back, hoping to see it open with full attention this time.]

[Sigyn appears behind them, smiling. She wearing a plain black outfit, perfect for hiding in shadows]

-that's a bit of a comical yelp of surprise as Stephen nearly falls in. Someone wanna grab him?]

Sigyn--! [Angus waves to their new questing companion, only to be immediately interrupted by Dr. Browning in danger. Angus reaches out to grab him by the arm and pull him back.]

[Sigyn gives a nod, quirking an eyebrow at Stephen]

Are you alright?

I'm fine!...you just surprised me. [Okay. Just. Sitting back a foot from the hole, HE'S GOOD, REALLY.]

You didn't bring a light, did you?

I do not. There are only candles in the storage room.

[He wants both hands to keep him balanced as he descends.]

If someone jumps, another person could drop a candle and match for them to catch.

I can go first. [She looks around] Do you think the stair railing would be strong enough to tether the rope to?

I think so. Been a while since I was in Scouts, though. [That seems to explain why he's handing the rope towards Sigyn, or at least he seems to expect it to explain why.] I can go find some candles while you get that secure?

Through the mountains! Secret secret secret secret tunnel!

[Christine is here, giving an eager salute!]

Yes! Please, show me, if you don't mind!

[Maybe if she knocks politely, he'll actually answer this time!]

[Over the mountains steps they go, to the hidden entrance beneath the polished floors. He stops before the spot where the Phantom stood as he taunted them.]

Be careful. It opens quite suddenly.

[madgiganticfeelings]

[Christine puts up her dukes, as if suspecting the Phantom to pop up out of the floor suddenly.]

I'm ready!

[mcfife]

Be careful.

[He holds out the broom and uses the handle to bang on the panel a few times. The panel swiftly opens, revealing a short drop to a room below.]

It's not a dangerous distance if you come prepared. Are you ready to make the jump?

[madgiganticfeelings]

[His answer to that is her moving over to the very edge of the panel, testing the edge of it with her feet, and then hoping down. There's a slight yelp from her, but she does land on her feet at least!

At which point she has to gasp when she sees all the mirrors.]

Geez! That nearly gave me a heart attack!

[mcfife]

I know! It's terrifying when you come here by accident!

[He sits on the edge of the hole with his legs dangling over the edge.]

Go on ahead. I'll follow you.

[madgiganticfeelings]

I can imagine! It's way better when you know what to expect.

[Which... technically, they don't. She knows Angus has been down here, but the Phantom easily could have changed things and messed with it. She makes sure her footing is stable and walks slowly forward, trying to look less nervous than she feels.]

[There's a door! Angus leaders Christine through it into the following hallway.]

He climbs up here whenever he wants to make an entrance, if my guess is right. If we could set up a trap in that room, we could finally get to speak with him.

[madgiganticfeelings]

[Christine practically squeals, bouncing on her feet as much as she can in the narrow hallway.]

That's what I wanted! I tried to get him to talk with me, but he's so blunt in all his letters...

[Geez, Phantom. Playing hard to get!]

[mcfife]

[He worries about you.]

That's...right.

[He stops in front of a locked trapdoor.]

Here. This is where he probably comes out to speak with us.

[madgiganticfeelings]

Oh! Have you managed to get this unlocked yet?

[She's trying to tug on it, but obviously, it is not budging at all. This could be because she's tiny, though.]

Not at all. We'll have to plan our attack. Perhaps we should bring weapons out here and wait for him to appear?
