WEEK 1

[With the introduction of their showrunner and a brief run through of what they're in for in their time in the Opera House out of the way, the performers are free to explore the first floor of the opera house at their leisure then and for the rest of the week that lies ahead. The double doors leading to the kitchen will be unlocked at 7 am and locked at 10 pm for intermission. Performers are free to prepare meals for themselves and others at any time outside of intermission.

The Merchandise Booth will also be open for business after the first day as some of the performers may find envelopes with their names on it taped to their doors in the morning.

If performers wish to have private conversations with their showrunner, The Balladeer, just step up to the box office and see if he's in.

[She has to. Anna has to! She's in the costume shop today! Even though the dresses are beautiful... Anna has decided to try one some pants. They seem to be from the Victorian era, and she finds it quite different. Petticoats and bloomers are one thing, but pants? She... could get used to wearing them. She dances around the room in them as she tries to get use to the feeling and give of the fabric.

She stops and thinks about what Hans had originally said about her having to keep up appearances...]

What would Elsa say?

[Anna can be seen walking around later with a dress on. Seems she's still not ready to show off quite yet.]

[Anna's not the only one in the room, it seems.]

Maybe she'd say they look good on you.

[She spins around, raising her hand to her mouth in surprise.]

I... [Shaking her she looks down at herself.] No... she'd tell me it wasn't proper. Ladies, especially a princess, shouldn't be wearing men's clothing.

...That's weird. Girls wearing pants is normal for me.

[Yes, even for her.]

You don't have to wear dresses if you don't want, unless its for school.

It's not where I'm from. Girls wear dresses and men wear pants. It's always been that way.

[Old gender norms are hard to go against when you've had it ingrained into you your entire life.]

... you really think so? It's not weird? I think my sister would look way better in them.

[Being complimented by a girl is different. And it keeps happening. Astarte, you're going to make Anna blush again.]

You think so...? I wouldn't even know what kind of shirt to look at. I don't think I want something with ruffles... or one that's too open.

...How about...?

[She takes out a simple green, crew-cut t-shirt with the words "KERMIT CHORUS" in yellow, along with the lining on the collar and sleeves. If the Phantom were here, he'd recognize it as something he'd wear. To Anna, it probably looks like it could be an undergarment. It also smells like the 70s, if one could...know that smell.]

[It's a pretty green, but the words and smell, and the fact it does look like an undergarment?]

Uhm... I think I'll pass on that one. Not... my style.

All right...

[How about this turtleneck? Brown and thick. It looks nice. And it doesn't smell crazy, at least.

Actually, if Anna doesn't take it, she might...]

[She checks it over and checks her head.]

I don't think I want something that tight around my neck...

[ Hans doesn't say anything at first, watching Anna enjoy herself. He feels he should intrude, but she seems to be having so much fun, you know? ]

We both know what Elsa would say.

[ He steps into the room, holding out a nice jacket to go with her pants. ]

But Elsa's not here, is she? You should make the best of it.

[Anna jumps badly enough that she grabs onto a rack, barely keeping herself upright. She laughs nervously and hides her lower half behind a dress hanging there.]

H-Hans! I didn't see you there!

[Is that jacket... for her?]

[trettende]

[ Hans brings his hands up-- he's only holding a jacket, princess. ]

I'm sorry if I startled you. I just thought, maybe this-- [ re: jacket ] --would go well with that outfit you have. Don't you think?

[Anna hesitates before stepping out from behind her hiding spot, heading over to Hans.]

It's lovely. [She takes it and checks it over with a small smile.] Thank you.

[ See? No need to hide, Anna. It's just your fiancee, Hans! ]

Well, I know a thing or two about coats and pants, so I thought I'd lend a hand.

[ Since, y'know, they're mens' clothes! ]

Thank you.

[Still hesitant, Anna puts on the jacket, moving her arms in small circles once it's on.]

The arms are a stiffer than I thought. Nothing like a dress!

[Oh. The fiance thing. How does she... bring that up?]

[trettende]

[ He chuckles. At least she's having fun. ]

They're certainly not, that's the lining on the inside. They're quite a bit of work.

[ Hans loves his jacket for one thing, it's really stylish for ye olden days. ]

Some jackets even have padded shoulders-- it projects a more 'dignified' look.

[ Bring what up, hmm?? ]

[Anna tries to imagine herself with padded shoulders, breaking out into a fit of giggling.]

I think I like my shoulders like they are!

[The elephant in the room...]

[ Hans smiles. ]

Yes, I think that'd be a little much. It looks good on you as-is.

[ What elephant where there's definitely no elephants here. ]

[Standing in front of the mirror, Anna feels like something is off.]

I don't think my hair is going to work. [The princess braid-bun up-do simply, well, won't do.] I should change it up.

[It will come to light eventually.]

Your hair?

[ Oh hey, the white wisp is gone. So much for being kissed by a troll? Should he say something....? ]

Maybe braids? [ He's gonna say something. ] What happened to your white streak?

But I'm always wearing braids.

[Anna touches her hair with a soft sigh.] It's gone. Astarte said that we could always dye a streak into my hair, but we have to find hair dye for it first.
