WEEK 5
[Five weeks, three trials, seven deaths and thirteen performers left.

Monday the opera house has been cleaned top to bottom of any leftover traces of Halloween. No pumpkins, no cobwebs, no cheesy paper skeletons, not even a hint that there the decorations has been there in the first place. There's a slight chill in the air this week, like someone forgot to shut off the air conditioning on for a bit too long. Luckily there are plenty of sweaters in the costume room should the performers get chilly. Three more doors are lacking in their appropriate stars now but, as with Hime's, Eliza and Darla's doors have different stars stuck tight to them with different names on them.

The door on in the third floor lobby is unlocked and a new floor is ready to be explored. Enjoy your week, everyone.]

[It's a fancy ass sword for one thing. The hilt is gold and the blade is sharp. It's clearly very expensive and either well taken care of or unused.]

[Oookay good to know it's a real sword. One more thing before we put it back, though. Is there any sign of how long the sword might have been under there? Dust, indentations in the underside of the mattress, that sort of thing?]

[There's no dust but there's a definite indent on the underside of the mattress. It's probably been there a good while.]

[Okay. Duly noted, and...well, he can't decide whether he feels safer putting this back under the mattress or into his chest, so it's going to sit on the side for a while.

The vanity now - anything behind there, on the furniture or wall? Or under it, even?]

[Under the vanity there's a small gold ring.]

[Picking that ring up to check it out. Anything significant about the ring - signs of wear or varnish, inscriptions, jewels, or is it a plain old gold ring?]

[There is an inscription on the inside, written in fancy cursive, that reads Happily Ever After. The outer side looks only slightly worn but otherwise like the sword it's in pristine condition. It's also most definitely styled and sized for a man.]

[dechagny]

["Happily Ever After", huh?

That, more than anything, brings Raoul's rage to a halt. He takes some time to look the ring over a few times, even though there's nothing else to find - the man's deep in thought, basically. It makes his determination to pry the star off of his door all the more strong.

Did the man before him make it out of this place alive? And if so, who is he? How did he do it?

Once he's got his wits sorted, Raoul goes to the last thing to check in here - the trunk. He knows what's inside of it, but is there anything under or beneath the trunk that shouldn't be there?

[Nope, it's pretty clean under there.]
