[The Opera House is quiet on Friday, just as it was quiet last Friday. There's no immediate smell of blood the air and most everyone was pretty blase about the motive earlier in the week this might just be a deathless week.

The only way to know for sure is to investigate.]

Billy gags and chokes it back down, tears pricking his eyes as he approaches slowly. He steps back again and then pulls a pair of safety gloves that are almost too big for his hands, pulling them on before he approaches and reaches into the washing machine, holding his breath and not looking as he takes hold of the dead weight of the little girl and hauls her out into his arms.

Then he lays her down on the floor and sits back heavily, shaking like a leaf. That's all he's got right now, give him a second.]

She comes here to be alone after seeing the body, opening the door - is there anything immediately noticeable?]

[There also seems to be a rather strong odor coming from the trash can.]

[To start with, the large metal door to the cold storage is standing open when she arrives.

[Most of the cleaning supplies seem fairly uniform in size and shape. However, there is a very small bottle stashed in here that sticks out. It's devoid of contents, and has a ghasty-looking image adorning the black label, along with small text reading 'XX'.

Do you want to try handling it?]

[Of course it's the trash can.

[Indeed she does, glancing around the area as she takes a few steps in.]

[The pattern shapes on each patch look hand drawn on with pencil. There's a sun, a book, a set of piano keys and fifteen others to make 18 in total. One of them looks almost finished.

Other than the quilting supplies, there are two larger squares of fabric near the corner of the bed. One of them has the loose sketch of a guitar on it.]

[OKAY THAT IS DEFINITELY POISON, give him a moment to go get gloves from somewhere because w o w. He is not going to handle that without gloves!!

...So a few minutes later he's back with gloves and a bag to put the poison in!! Hell yeah. But first things first, he'll pick up the bottle and check it out. Anything off about it besides the fact that it's poison?]

[The topmost thing in the trashcan is an upside-down plate. Beneath it seem to be a number of whole cookies. Congrats, Seymour, you did it.]

[He's definitely going to notice that her body's dry just from pulling her out. She hasn't yet been cleaned of her sins.]

Well if the grossest thing down there is some cookies, he doesn't have much issue grabbing one out and examining it closer.]

[Heather's staying clear of the body- but she's already here in the library, so she might as well look around. Is there anything that seems immediately off, other than the creepy dead body?]

[There's a small but noticeable smear on the side of the bottle, it's beige and somewhat greasy.]

Is there anything on the other piece of square?]

[Huh, that's weird... Is there any indication of what the smear could come from? It's not paint, is it?]

[As a matter of fact there are. Her hands are just as cold as the rest of her but noticeably not damp like her shoulder. The sleeves of her robe are long but loose and fall back easily if her arms are moved, revealing small, shallow scratches or cuts on the backs of her hands and forearms.]

[He gags again at the acid smell of vomit, but still stays strong.]

...what was the point of putting her in the washing machine?

[It certainly doesn't appear to be paint - it's fairly obvious that there's nothing in the laundry that could've produced the smear.]

[The other piece has a loosely sketched, not entirely accurate but recognizable ukulele.]

Let's take a look at those scratches, then, since there are a few things that could have caused that - do they look like the sort of thing that was caused by somebody's nails (you know, raised red welts with shallow broken skin here and there) or something else (like something sharp was lightly raked over her arms or she lost a fight with a rosebush or something)?]

[Okay, definitely something to ask the others about (assuming we don't need to find the answer to what that is during the investigation). Is there anything off over here with the cleaning supplies and away from the body?]

[The library itself doesn't look more messy than it usually is, books left out here and there, put back on the wrong shelves and all that.]
