Let's Gather 'Round the Campfire and Sing Our Campfire Song

[Well last week Spongebob decided that the Wizard was nothing but a big fucker and everything was all his fault so he is going to kick his "Boost the moral of his friends" scheme into overdrive to rub it in the Wizard's stupid face.

Around the school on Monday, there will be Spongebob's huge mass of fliers again, this time for some sort of camp out.]


Spongebob Squarepants Crazy Camping Party!!!
Come to the edge of the forest on Monday at 5 pm for a whole night of roasting marshmallows, telling Spoooooky stories, and sleeping under the stars!
Don't worry if it rains, we can always bring the camp inside!

Attendance is MANDATORY!!! I will come find you if you don't attend.

[And he absolutely means it.

Even though there are no stars, it's a comfortable evening with no real signs of rain, and Spongebob's managed to set up a cozy Spongebob set out a bunch of blankets, towels, and pillows around a cozy campfire. There are plenty of food you'd normally see at a camp out, including smores! Spongebob seems to have gone all out and brought in practically every kind of candy from the kitchen, so have fun with the sugar rush!]

[Angus just better be on his best behavior, lest Farrah lead Spongebob into singing her song.]

I don't know, but raccoons love them. [To make a point, she passes Ruddiger a big ol' gooey marshmallow. It's a mess. ... Ruddiger really needs another foster parent, who will teach him vegetables.]

[Angus nudges a potato towards Ruddiger in a futile attempt to give him his minerals.]

He seems to be doing well.

He's doing okay. [Farrah watches as Ruddiger takes the entire damn potato in his marshmallow-sticky hands, and hauls ass off into a tree, faster than a raccoon that big has any right to move.]

We're all... doing okay. [Just okay.]

[There's nothing that Angus can reply with other than silence, following by a quiet sigh. The fire fills in most of the noise they really need for the party.]

I want to say that I am stronger than I was last week, but I cannot lie to all of you. [It's hard, especially when you've been starting to understand someone who dies a few days later.] But we have to stick together. We've gotten out before, and we can do it again.

[He stares out into the corn field.]

But okay is better than terrible.

[Farrah settles into the silence too, gazing into the fire, trying not to think of how the yellows and orange blend into an amber sort of misery. She awkwardly rests a hand on Angus' shoulder, though she's not sure she has much to motivate him with.]

... Yeah. Me too. I'm... trying. Varian asked me to. I'm trying. [But it's hard.]

I'm not the stick-together when things get bad kind of girl. I'm more of a... pick sides and wage war kind of girl. And normally, there's not anyone on my side.

[Varian.

Angus has a lot of thoughts about the young alchemist. Regrets, frustration, wishes that things turned out differently. He touched a lot of people, but they can never thank him for his help again.]

Sometimes, it is necessary to wage war, but wars are fought with armies, not by a lone combatant.

My army-of-one battles never got me anywhere, so I guess that's true.

At least we all have a common enemy in the Wizard. We all know that, now.

A common enemy to provide common ground. If we focus on the singular goal of overthrowing him, we may stand a chance to end this torture and free us all. We will be like an army, marching side by side wielding the symbols of justice and freedom.

[Not all armies consist of heavily-armored warriors. Brave young women and old men can join in. Princesses and bards, fighters and peacemakers.]

[Farrah just kind of. Stares blankly at him for a while.

Then she laughs.]

Okay. You’re really weird, Angus, but I think I get it. I feel a little more inspired, at least.

[If anything, he can always rely on power metal to...empower. Angus grins and claps his hands.]

There you are! This is the energy we need for this gathering!

[He ought to sing these kinds of songs more often. It's worth the smile on Farrah's face.]
