Week Five

[Last week, you had your very first minor body pileup! Granted, the Balladeer's death was entirely unrelated to anything, but at least he died as he lived - getting completely fucked up in some kind of carnival-themed hellscape. Only two days later, another terrible accident took Rina and Varian both from you. It's just been one of those weeks, huh? At least you got to add both of their corpses to your weird growing collection!

Again, you'll wake up this morning with another new snippet of memory. You'll also find that the stairs in the lobby are no longer blocked. You can only access one part of the second floor, but it seems like there's some neat stuff up there!

Outside, a few things seem to have changed. For one, the weather has turned - it'll be overcast this week, with periodic rain and even scattered thunderstorms. For another, the bushes around that rock out by the football field have bloomed. That's nice.

Get to it, friends! I'm sure everything will be fine this week!]

(( Be sure to submit your memory regain and your AC for this week! As always, Hester's office hours and the merch booth remain available. ))

Pool

[Elsa's not as much of an active explorer as the others, but she's realizing she needs to do something to keep from sliding backwards into the memories of the latest trial. So in the time when Cass needs a break on her own, she wanders up to the second floor, eventually finding the pool and Discord messing with the button.]

This feels... somewhat ominous, don't you think?

Extremely, yes.

[He flips the button again and the temperature begins to drop once more.]

I'd say we should put up signs telling people not to go in here on Thursdays, but even I wouldn't go along with that.

[Elsa can only shake her head at that.]

I understand those intentions, but... you're right, there's no point. I don't think anywhere is safe on Thursdays. [...] The dormitories, perhaps, but even those aren't safe.

[Though, looking at their dwindling party... she can't imagine any of them killing others while they slept.]

Perhaps we can find some way to bar the door?

Trombarricade, perhaps? It would be inconvenient, but also rather funny.

[...Yeah, probably not.]

I suppose all we can really do is hope, which has really never been my style and I wasn't ever going to start, but... Well. Here we are.

[... Okay, that gets a snort of laughter out of Elsa.]

Well, that's not the worst possible idea. At the very least, the sound of all those trombones falling will alert anyone anywhere in the building.

It could be our own personal alarm system. I'm pretty sure we have enough trombones for every room and then some.

Every room, every door... [She lets out a huff, her smile twisting to a frown.] We could probably shove a few of them into the Wizard's mouth and see if that'll stall him enough to call off a trial.

Now that I would just love to see. Just stuff it full. It would at least get him to shut up.

I think we would all appreciate that.
