Yeah, basically... An idol is like um... it's a performer or group of performers that mostly sing and dance for others on stage, though they sometimes act and model too. I think in the west they're often called "pop stars"-- [ Hmm but wait Salieri is from a different time so he might not know that term? She tries to think of a different one ] or um... "divas"? They're really popular where I'm from...
School Idols though are teenage girls who aren't professionals but they make clubs with their friends and put on their own concerts, usually with music they write themselves and handmade costumes. Sometimes they even compete with groups from other schools in country wide competitions or get invited to perform on a professional stage.
