Week One

[Yesterday, everyone woke up in a strange place and realized that they'd been kidnapped, and also that everyone else around them may or may not be kinnies? Wow, what a weird escalation of kin drama! Given what some people have seen of Spongebob's freaky arm thing, though, maybe it's not that at all?

Your Assistant Director, Hester, showed off her stuff and immediately had her life threatened by Lumpy Space Princess, who got her life threatened right back. Maybe you should keep that in mind if you decide to pay Hester any more visits! She won't be making another public appearance this week, but as promised, she'll be available for visits and consultation in the Principal's Office during business hours.

If you don't want to chat with Hester, there's always the school to explore! Some of you might also be receiving mysterious coins next to your bedside this week - those must be useful for something, right? There's lots to do, and you all seem like a group who can make your own fun, so enjoy your first week of school!]

Not exactly. It's a little chilly without one but...

I always wear one with my uniform back home... so it feels weird not to have one right now.

Oh, okay. [ Hooded coats as a fashion statement are still a ways away from Orpheus's time, but the notion is far from the most unusual thing he's encountered here so far. ] If you can't find one, maybe someone can sew one for you? I only really know enough to mend clothes, but I'm sure someone here knows how.

[ It's a common skill! He'd be very surprised if someone didn't know. ]

I can't really speak for anyone else, but it can't hurt to ask, right? Sewing clothes takes a while, but it's not like we have much else to do here.

[ They had History Club and that's about as close to actual classes as it seems like they're going to get. ]

And everyone I've talked to has been really willing to help me with things when I've talked to them about what I'm working on.

I think I've seen Elle using the sewing machine? You might ask her. She's really friendly!

[ And from the future, maybe? ]

And I am, yes! I'm Orpheus. Sorry for not talking to you sooner. [ He's just gonna say it outright. ] I've been trying to introduce myself to everyone? But it's been kind of chaotic.

It's okay. I haven't been talking to many people myself. [ a pause ] ...It's been scary.

[ Oh no! Orpheus gives her a sympathetic look. He may not have much trouble introducing himself to new people, but he knows it's hard for some. Especially given, well. ]

This is a scary situation. [ he says. ] I don't think anyone would blame you for being kind of wary. But everyone I've talked to so far has been pretty nice, if that helps!

[ Maybe it shouldn't. Orpheus's standards of 'nice' are pretty low. ]
