Revolutions of 1848 spoilers?

Well...there were a lot of problems in Europe, and the people ended up blaming their kings. There was a lot of anger about inequality...

[She frowned.]

Even my uncle was in trouble. My uncle is-well, he was the king of Bavaria. He's not anymore, my cousin Max is in charge now. That was definitely the main problem, it turned out! I mean...not my uncle. It was with many of the kings and emperors ruling, they weren't being effective governors.

It was...frightening, but unlike what happened with the French the first time, everything was resolved much more peacefully. All the kings being challenged stepped down to let other family members rule as part of the compromise, and everyone seems to be much happier for it. Even the French decided to become a kingdom again!

[and they all lived happily ever after]
